Why our broken dryer was a blessing.

Our dryer quit working. It is now too cold to hang our clothes out on the line for them to dry. The good news is that it should be covered under warranty. The bad news is the company must come and get our dryer to repair it. They also have the right to keep it for up to 45 days. While it is a terrible inconvenience there is a tremendous blessing.

Just around the corner from our house is a laundry mat (which are not very common in Europe). The cost to wash and dry one load of clothes would be $25! I could have washed and dried 10 loads of laundry in the States for that! We thank the Lord that both our washer and dryer didn't go out at the same time.

While drying just one load of clothes I met the attendant, Alois, who knew a little English and was eager to practice his language skills. As it usually happens, Alois asked, "Why are you here?" So I shared with him that we have come to tell Cakovec about the love of Jesus and salvation through Him. Alois seemed to understand that religion is empty and that the activities of the church meant nothing without belief in Jesus and a personal relationship with Him. But, he was not ready to make a life changing decision today. However, a seed was planted in the heart of a man who might never have heard the gospel without those of you who support our ministry to proclaim the gospel in Croatia. Now we work to nourish the seed with faith that it will one day yield a harvest.

This blog will serve as our website until it is completed. Thank you for visiting with us today and allowing us to share with you our burden for preaching the gospel if Christ.

We welcome your comments and questions. Our prayer is for God's will to be accomplished in your life as well.

Our Calling

Knowing Christ as Savior for most of my life, I must confess that I had taken my relationship with God for granted. Truthfully I did not realize the extent of God's mercy and grace until He gave me children of my own. Now a father it became clear that for me to have a loving relationship with my children I would have to show them mercy, grace, and justice (on a daily basis). Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need(Hebrews 4:16). Therefore my children are a constant reminder to me of how much God really does love me. He has been far more gracious and merciful to me than I deserve!

It was through another missionary that God brought Croatia to our attention. We had learned of other missionaries who had gone to Croatia but were unable to stay. A country of nearly 5 million people that profess to be Christian yet trusting in good works to obtain heaven rather than the Lord Jesus Christ. While Kristina and I were praying about where God would have us to go He spoke to me through Jonah 4:2.

If God would be merciful and gracious to Jonah (a disobedient servant), to the city of Nineveh, and to me; then He would most definitely want the same for Croatia! Would you please prayerfully consider how God would have you share in our burden? You can pray for us to raise our support quickly enabling us to go and preach the gospel and pray for the salvation of Croatia. You can also give financially by faith so that we might bare fruit to your account. Or you too can surrender your life so that Croats can experience God's mercy and grace the same as you and I.

Kevin's Testimony

I accepted Christ as Savior when I was five and was privileged to be reared in a Christian home. All of my life my parents have been faithful servants and active in ministry of a local church. At the age of ten, realizing that God had a plan for me, I surrendered my life to obey His Will.

God burdened my heart for reaching children with the gospel. While earning a Bachelor of Elementary of Education I served as director of children's Church at Western Hills Baptist in Kennesaw, GA. This is where God revealed how He would accomplish His Will in me.

Still thinking that I would achieve my life long dream of teaching, I visited some friends who were missionaries in New Zealand. Through Clint and Beverly Braly's ministry I realized that there were millions of children who might never hear the gospel unless someone was willing to go and share the love of Christ with them. I surrendered my life again but this time I included my dreams and ambitions too so that I may obey His Will to preach the gospel in the regions beyond.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? (Romans 6:16)
